More likely than not, these instances usually have a triggering cause. In this article, we will discuss 7 things that cause creativity block and how to overcome them.

Good Theraphy.org puts it, "it is barriers to inspiration and is described as the inability to access one's internal creativity." Simply put, your brain's creativity isn't as efficient as it normally is, especially during the times when you desperately need it the most.
Some feel that the added pressure gives them the motivation to be productive as much as they can. For most of us, however, the more pressure we feel, the more we feel hopeless! How can we overcome a creativity block? But first, let's understand why being a business owner/entrepreneur doubles its significance.
Why Is Knowing About Creativity Block Important As A Business Owner/Entrepreneur
As business owners, we are constantly on the move into innovating and coming up with new ideas. No matter what industry, business owners involve in creating relevant content, effective strategies, workflow systems for your services, and more. These don't simply come to mind. All of these need careful planning and consideration.
Creative blocks interrupt your productivity and efficiency and therefore add to more stress and work complications. Really then, creative blocks are frustrating episodes that should be dealt with urgently to maintain a healthy workflow.
One good way to do that is to avoid instances that would put you in that situation. Let's consider them!
Examples On How A Creativity Block Can Occur
Example 1: You are running out of ideas or experiencing a mental block.

What you can do:
One common reason behind this is when a person limits their creative space. By that, we mean that maybe you're not exploring your options enough. Get inspired! Brainstorm with your team, read what other people think through articles, books, or stories, or simply take time to appreciate what you know now.
Sometimes we put ourselves in a limited box. Get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself!

Example 2: Your personal problems are affecting you at work.
What you can do:
It's not your fault that you are emotionally affected by your personal problems whether at home, relationships, etc. The best way to refocus is to confront that problem first. Creativity requires deep focus, for most people at least. Take your time and just do your best to get it resolved first.
Example 3: You are miscommunicating with your team or partner.
What you can do:
The friction and misunderstanding between members of the same time can be uncomfortable, even unbearable. Like the example above, face it first and resolve the problem. After that, look for ways to avoid those same miscommunication problems by setting up proper communication systems in your team.
Example 4: You are not ready to take a big step forward.
What you can do:
Lack of confidence can throw you off-course and hinder you from taking big steps. Many entrepreneurs give up early because they don't believe in themselves enough. Don't let lack of confidence and fear of failure hinder your innovative thinking! Expand your mind and be ready to be flexible, whatever situation may arise. You can do it if you really want to!
Example 5: Your bad work habits are sabotaging you.

What you can do:
Habits can be hard to change since it is essentially ingrained into who you are. But, it's not impossible! Think to yourself, "What are some of my habits that may hinder my creativity?". Do you struggle in keeping your space clean? Have you developed a habit of procrastinating? Whichever bad habit it is, stop it. Don't let it take control of your life and productivity.

Example 6: You are overworking yourself up to the point you're experiencing burnout.
What you can do:
Doing our best is great, excellent even. But, don't overdo it! Take the time to breathe, to rest, to relax. It has been proven many times that you are more productive when you feel great. That is very true when it comes to creativity. Therefore, get lots of rest, strive to live and eat healthily, and keep your mental health in check!
Example 7: You don't take advantage of periods when your creativity is at a peak.
What you can do:
You never know when a brilliant idea would spring into your mind. Make it a habit to carry a note and a pen (it could even be electronic tools) where you can jot down those ideas when they come. By staying prepared, you are minimizing the inconvenience if ever you get a creativity block.
